EVERY PICTURE TELLS A STORY
A New Way of Seeing Memory Loss & Travelling Together on the Road to Wellbeing
A New Way of Seeing Memory Loss & Travelling Together on the Road to Wellbeing
An engaging and informative look at the power of pictures to offer a new view of memory loss.
When we look closely at a picture beyond its surface, we can see layers of story, expression and meaning.
This talk invites us to see how individuals have made new discoveries and found creative inspiration during the journey of memory loss. We'll look at experiences of discovery at the museum, cinema, art gallery, care program where we use art to open doors to imagination, wonder, adventures of the spirit and wellbeing.
We'll see the whole person beyond a diagnosis.
The World Health Organization (WHO) defines Health as "not merely the absence of disease or infirmity,
but a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being” WHO is measuring "success" outcomes
of arts experiences by evaluating "moments of connection."
Workshop participants will gain an understanding of how to engage in moments of meaningful connection through specific project examples. We'll discover new ideas to spark creative flow experiences both 1:1 and
in small groups. Participants will leave with practical tools to build more positive, uplifting moments together!
This workshop is for individuals with memory challenges, family, friends, program staff, care partners,
community members and organizations.
